Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist

Location: Downtown Dallas, TX

Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for managing incoming payments, billing, and customer account reconciliation. This role supports accurate financial reporting and healthy cash flow while working cross-functionally with sales, customer service, and accounting teams. The position is based in Downtown Dallas and may offer hybrid flexibility depending on the employer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on time
  • Apply customer payments (ACH, wire, checks, credit cards) to accounts
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing discrepancies and payment status
  • Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger
  • Prepare and maintain AR documentation for audits and monthly close
  • Resolve short payments, chargebacks, and credit memos
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Maintain accurate customer records in ERP/accounting systems

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of AR processes and GAAP principles
  • Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Experience in high-volume or corporate AR environments
  • Background in professional services, real estate, healthcare, or manufacturing (industry-dependent)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Downtown Dallas corporate environment
